BankLift vs Quick Importer
Quick Importer is the established tool for digital Romanian bank statements going into SAGA and WinMentor. It does that job well, it runs on your own machine, and it costs less if you process a lot of statements every month. We are not going to talk it down. This page tells you exactly when it is the right choice and when it is not.
The short answer
Choose Quick Importer if…
- You work only with Romanian banks and receive statements digitally, straight from internet banking.
- You process many statements a month — a module subscription beats paying per conversion.
- Your file must never leave your computer. Quick Importer processes on-device; we upload the file to a server.
- You want e-Factura and SmartBill included in the same subscription.
Choose BankLift if…
- You have scanned or photographed statements. Quick Importer requires the original export from the bank app and does not accept scans.
- You have clients banking in Moldova (MAIB, Victoriabank, Moldindconbank) or Ukraine (PrivatBank, Monobank).
- You convert occasionally and do not want a subscription — Excel and CSV are free, accounting formats are paid per file.
- You cannot or will not install software on your work machine.

Frequently asked questions
- Does Quick Importer really not read scanned statements?
- It does not, and their own feature page says so: they require the original export from the bank app. This is not a hidden weakness, it is a design choice — local processing without AI cannot read a photograph.
- Which is cheaper?
- It depends on volume. Quick Importer starts at 60 RON per month per module no matter how many statements you process. BankLift charges $0.20 per page with a $5 minimum per file, and Excel and CSV are free. Process statements daily and the subscription wins. Handle a few a month and pay-per-conversion wins.
- Can I use both?
- Yes, and many firms should. Quick Importer for routine digital Romanian statements, BankLift for the scans, the photos, and the Moldovan or Ukrainian clients Quick Importer does not cover.
- Is my file safer with Quick Importer?
- On the question of where the file goes, yes: with them it never leaves your computer. With us it travels over HTTPS to an AI provider that is contractually forbidden to train on it, and we keep a copy for 30 days to improve accuracy, after which it is deleted automatically. The full detail is on our Security page.
